Title of the project: Let There Be Rock

The project “Let There Be Rock” is an initiative of young people from three different high schools and Faculty of Law from Bijelo Polje. The project aimed to enrich the social environment in Bijelo Polje with rock culture, inform young people about the rock culture and encourage them to actively express their views on different aspects of urban culture.
The group received tehnical assistance and grant administation by NGO Youth Center Proactive, which has been active in encouraging and supporting youth activism in Bijelo Polje for a couple of.
In order to increase awareness of young people in their community on urban culture, the group organized significant number of activities in a very short period of time, such: info points at secondary schools and faculties in Bijelo Polje, distribution of leaflets, Facebook campaign, film projection, broadcasting of radio shows on a local radio station, organization of a public debate on urban culture, organization of a performance and a rock concert.
They received excellent critics with very good media coverage of local radio and TV stations and daily papers.

RETURN OF THE ROCK CULTURE
Bijelo Polje – A group of secondary school students from Bijelo Polje organize „Let it be the rock“project in cooperation with Youth center „Proactive“from Podgorica and with support from the Fund for active citizenship – fAKT. Main patron of the project is local Center for culture from Bijelo Polje.
According to Jelena Joksimovic, manager of the project, youth from Bijelo Polje has decided to deal with rock culture in their community.
We want to enrich culture scene of the Municipality. We want rock to be listened, we want people to talk about the muvement that marked one part of human history and which was a movement that signifies rebellion and critical opinion of youth, Joksimovic said.
At the tribune, organized as part of this project, the students confronted their opinions on the rock impact on youth minds. „Rock caravan“ TV reporter Dragan Vujacic and their professors Rafet Mulic and Damir Sabanovic spoke on how the rock culture animates critical opinion among youth and how it influences their minds.
