Rockefeller Brothers Fund – RBF from New York organized a Forum on the topic: Philanthropy for the “green” ideas in the Western Balkans, at Bianca hotel in Kolasin, in the period July 17-20th, 2012.
Forum attended affiliate foundations of five countries from the region: fAKT (Montenegro), Partners Albania (Albania), FIQ (Kosovo), BCIF (Serbia) and CIR-a (Macedonia), with the three best “green” business ideas that have entered competition for one of three prizes, each $ 10,000.
Montenegro was presented with three “green” business ideas:
• “Rural tourism” – the provision of accommodation for eco tourists in village Lubnice (Berane) – Project of Marijana and Milan Kljajić;
• “See shell and olive” – opening the workshop for making souvenirs of natural materials – holders of the project: Sanja Stankovic, Nina Todorov and Dragana Pecurica, and
• “Re-Made By” – recycling textiles for women victims of violence – holder of the project: SOS Helpline for Women and Children Victims of Violence Niksic.
First place won the project “Rural Tourism”, of Kljajic couple from Berane (Montenegro). The second was Mirjana Stevanovic from Serbia with the project “Green Classroom” and the third Iris Sojli from Albania, with the project “Community for Recycling.” All three projects for the realization of the ideas will receive financial support in the amount of $ 10,000.
