Inclusion through chess

With support of Fund for Active Citizenship (fAKT), Centre for chess development –“Diagonals” implemented the project titled “Inclusion through chess” during June 2012.

Project envisioned one-month chess training (twice a week) for twenty children, including five with special educational needs.

The objective of the project was inclusion of youth with disabilities and their integration into society; society which is still insufficiently sensitized to accept and help those who are differ in some physical or mental characteristics.

In July 7, 2012 within “Karver” bookstore, it was organized a simultaneous chess play with the project beneficiaries to whom were awarded diplomas, chess sets, chess clocks and the literature related to playing chess.
